I agree- a down economy causes people to make better decisions on their spends but it also causes people to rethink their lives. Online business will benefit I believe. Lots of different types of people are looking for alternatives and or solutions to either supplement or replace their incomes....or build for the future. Looking forward to 2009!
EJ,

I'm someone who has lost their job due to this down ecomony. and am looking at affiliate marketing as a "new career.' I would like to play devil's advocate for just a moment. Since I've lost my job, I'm trying to understand where is it that this income to spend online going to come from as each day my debt grows as I don't have income to pay just my basic living expenses. How are people that have lost thier jobs and those that will eventually lose thier jobs going to spend money? Where is that money going to come from?
Maureen: Thanks for stopping by! I agree, more and more people are going to be looking online for answers. Whether it be for ways to earn online, for information to common problems, etc...the list goes on and on.

Eric: It doesn't have to cost a lot to start out. In fact, you can do a lot for free. I do not use any paid advertising at this time. All my visitors come from free sources. I use article marketing, hubpages, squidoo lens, blogger blogs and anything else I can find that is free. The only things I pay for right now are 2 domain names and hosting on one and a couple of memberships. (I didn't purchase these until I had some consistant income coming in.)

When I first started out, I thought that it would be quick and easy to start earning online. I soon found out that it is not! It take a lot of hard work to get to where it starts to pay off. Slow and steady does pay off.

Starting in January, I will be posting on how to work at home using free methods to get started.

Thanks for visiting and come back soon.
I'm hoping this will make all of us (including me) rethink our futures and spending habits. I know it's had a huge impact on me. Great site...thanks for visiting my blog

Hi EJ,

I understand Eric, since it seems not possible to do business without some money, I think that post you said about starting with free methods will be a killing, I have being trying to get money joining every contest I can find the web. I have actually won some, but I still to look for the ones that gives away money not just ads, thats good if you already have a site but if you are like Eric, you may need monet as fast as you can.

I still have a full time job, but seeking to work at home full time, so im already trying to do business online before something happens and I get Fired before I want to. I hope I can win this race against time and economy.

Thanks for the info.

Ill be looking for your next post.
Very insightful video and post. I would have thought that there would have been a down turn all across the board. It is good to see that there are people who are optimistic about 2009. It is interesting to hear the other things that she has to talk about in terms of areas that won’t be affected so much by the economic downturn. I think as many people as possible should watch the video.
I do agree ! Great video which i haven't come across about affiliate marketing...I think it sounds good if we have a affiliate marketing which is online.
Affiliate marketing may also be used to refer to that industry in which a variety of types of companies and individuals perform...
