As if being a mom isn't hard enough, many women have also taken on the role of entrepreneur. This is where the phrase, “mompreneur"
comes from.
It's a tough but generally rewarding lifestyle choice. Moms
can be there for their children and family when they need them. They
can create an online business and generate an income for the family.

However,
sometimes being a mompreneur can seem as if you're standing on the edge
of a cliff. A crisis can hit and depending on your business model,
everything can go wrong at once.

For
example, a mompreneur who suddenly finds that a family member is having
a health crisis may need to drop everything to care for that loved one.
The business goes on the back burner. There is no time for online work
and when the health crisis is over there's little or no business to come
back to.

That's an extreme example but it can happen as I found out
when my mother-in-law became ill and I was offline for almost a year and
a half.

Here are 3 steps that I should have taken to help prepare for any potential crisis.

#1 Have a Backup Person to Help with your Online Business

You
don't have to have a partner or divulge everything about your business
to another person. However, it is helpful if you have a virtual
assistant, friend or family member that can help you. That way, if a
crisis occurs, you can quickly contact them and they can handle any
communications and manage things while you're away.

#2 Network and Build a Community

Another way to help prepare for a potential crisis is to make sure you have connections in your industry.

If
you're a blogger or information marketer, then make connections with
other bloggers and writers in your industry. If you're going to be
unavailable for an extended period of time, you can hire or partner with
a writer so the content continues to flow on your site.

For
example, if you're a professional coach and are unable to meet your
coaching obligations for a period of time, you might be able to offer
your clients a substitute coach while you're away. They don't miss out
on the coaching experience they've paid for and you don't lose clients.

#3 Your Mindset Is Everything

Having
a positive mindset is what will help you not only come through a crisis
personally but also professionally. Being able to stay positive and
focused on your priorities helps you avoid feeling overwhelmed and out
of control.

Before
a crisis happens, make sure to create strong connections with your
niche community. Then you'll be able to quickly make a plan, know what
you can handle and what you cannot, and know who to ask for help. EJ Cookseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12896015652516067696noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5967648754793859620.post-80937641820264671342010-10-24T14:47:00.000-05:002010-10-24T14:47:27.032-05:00Getting The Most Out Of Something FREEHere’s how you can get the most out of a program called Free Monthly Websites.

Free Monthly Websites, in my opinion is one of those programs you either know what to do with or you don’t. I will now show you how you can get the most of it and why Free Monthly Websites is such great tool which can earn you an extra income stream to your business for a long time to come.

The Three main categories we need to concentrate on here are:

1, Selling eBooks

2, Writing articles

3, Affiliate promotions

When you first login and download your website, follow the tutorials, which is very easy to do and eventually get your website onto your webspace. You are presented with a very nice well designed Adsense website.

What can you do with this free website? Well to be honest the free website has duplicate content so you can rule out getting to the top of the search engine rankings, the premier websites are a different kettle of fish all together but I will get to those in a moment.

Take option 1 above ‘Selling eBooks’ , if you sell eBooks especially PLR (private Label Content), you will find Free Monthly Websites have a rather large varity of websites that correspond with a lot of the PLR out there (if you are a premier member you get a bonus PLR eBook). All you need to do is upload your eBook to a convenient location on your webspace and place a few corresponding links inside your PLR eBook for example:

I have a weight loss eBook and a small paragraph saying “there are 100’s ways to lose weight which can be found in various forms from Books to television to fitness programs bla bla bla” you could take this small paragraph and insert your Free Monthly Websites website link in a prime location for instance “there are 100’s ways to lose weight which can be found in various forms from Books to television to fitness programs the best resource I found is at www.yourfreemonthlywebsites.com/fitness_website”

Now imagine you done this to all your eBooks! Simply take a little time to upload your Free Monthly Websites website to your webspace then reopen your PLR eBooks and insert the relevant hyperlink which corresponds to your website and there you have it. For about 2 hours work you have created an income stream for life. Now imagine you have 50 PLR eBooks doing the rounds on eBay or your blog. Your AdSense revenue is going to creep up and up until you are earning a very respectable income. It’s a simple case of wash rinse repeat.

Option number 2 is even easier. I know most of you will at some point, or already do write articles and submit them to relevant article directories. Well, why not try writing an article about one of the subjects related to your Free Monthly Websites? Upload your website to a location on your webspace, place the link in your article and there you have it, submit to article directories like:

http://www.articledashboard.com/

http://www.articlebasement.com/

http://ezinearticles.com/

http://www.goarticles.com/

And another income stream will start.

The third option is a little different. Using your Free Monthly Websites affiliate link to promote the website and earn a potential 98.50 per referral. You can place your link in the websites provided for you and in the eBooks you sell and articles you write this can generate a missive earnings income of 98.50.
So with your website up on your webspace and your eBook on the internet and your articles in the article directories, you will be well on your way to earning a nice income from a free resource.

I mentioned earlier about the Premier Members website. These are a fantastic resource and are worth every penny for the simple fact you receive a private label eBook and 20 articles with every Premier Membership website every month. Not only can you use the eBooks and articles in the ways I have explained, you can key word optimize your website for the search engines, change the content and make your sites as original as you like. In other words you have full edit rights. So if you imagine directing a visitor to your Premier Website via an eBook or article, they will find a fully edited site with offers and affiliate links promotions, and even an Aweber signup box (which you can integrate with a little HTML knowledge) which in turn will create more revenue and more subscribers for you.

My recommendation is that if you have a few hours to spare to get started, you could soon see a increase in your online income. If you use the Premier Websites, you can place affiliate banners, Clickbank affiliate links and Aweber signup box on your site as well as edit all your own content via an easy edit control panel.

If you are going to move into this business, I recommend you take the Full Premier Websites Access! (Special price of only $10 a month for a limited time, then increases to $47 a month)

Is your "dream job" one where you can spend time with your family and still earn money at the same time? Most regular 9 to 5 jobs do not offer that. The ticket to your dreams could happen by becoming a WAHM.

Whoa...slow down...before setting off on your quest to become a WAHM, here is some useful information on what being a WAHM is all about.

WHAM? What do these letters mean? WAHM stands for "Work At Home Mom".

More and more women have left the workplace to stay at home over the last 20 years or so. A long time ago, it became apparent that men were the only ones being allowed to "Have there cake and eat it too". Men could pursue a career and still come home to the family in the evening. Womens careers followed a different path. As well as working longer hours to receive the same pay and credibility as their male counterparts, they also had to deal with the housework and kids. All that was left for the kids after a long day at work and then doing the household chores, was a very worn out and tired mother.

That has since changed. Women today are proving that by being a work at home mom, they can still contribute to the family's financial situation and still nuture their familes. A network of support has been created both online and offline for any woman who wants to consider becoming a WAHM and help them meet thier needs.

How do you get started?

You will want to have an idea of the direction you will take before you talk to your family about the possibility of becoming a WAHM. Check out internet sites like justaddsweat.com, internetbasedmoms.com and wahmtalkradio.com. They offer insights into getting started as a WAHM and offer a network of opportunities for meeting other work at home moms.

If your income has been a large part of your familys monthly finances, then becoming a WAHM may cause your finances to take a hit. Make sure you have enough financially to cushion ;your bank account for at least the first six months of working at home. It takes time to establish your work at home business.

Opportunities

You will need to figure out your interests and skills.

You can find many business opportunities for work for someone else doing everything from audio transcription, writing articles, accounting, etc...the list goes on and on. Be alert to the scams that are out there. The legitimate companies looking for professionals will not ask for mony upfront .

Many WAHMs begin an online business by carving out thier own niche. Are you good with crafting, sewing, jewerly making, etc...? You could create a site to promote and sell your products.

Another great idea is a blog. Post on your blog about your expertise in an area and develop a following. Combine that with affiliate marketing or adsense to generate revenue.

Making it Work for You

The issue of balance between home and work comes along with being a WAHM. Being a WAHM doesn't mean that you will not need help around the house or time away from your kids in order to work.

Here's a few tips for creating a balance:

• Develop a set schedule for work and play on a weekly basis
• Discuss dividing up household chores between you, your spouse, and older kids
• Do pre-work such as fixing lunches, prepping breakfast, choosing clothing the night before
• Hire a babysitter once or twice a week
• Separate home office space inside the house

There are so many advantages to being a WAHM. Be sure you plan carefully and remain patient. Also, support from your family can make all the difference when being a work at home mom.

EJ Cookseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12896015652516067696noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5967648754793859620.post-82920256553673386712010-09-17T11:29:00.004-05:002010-09-17T11:44:43.759-05:004 Smart Strategies for More Search Engine TrafficImage via Wikipedia

Search engine traffic – what marketer doesn’t want more of it?

In the online world, good quality traffic equates to having the top spot at the shopping mall. So just how do you get more search engine traffic?

Here are 4 top tips:

#1 – Write and distribute articles.

You may have heard this tip already, but it is without a doubt one of the absolute best ways to drive traffic to your website. Each article you distribute to the directories could mean many potential one-way links back to your websites.

This means more visitors who read your content and click over for more information. But it also means higher ranking within the search engines themselves. Search engines love incoming one-way links, and the more articles you distribute the more back links you’ll get.

#2 – Optimize your website.

Search engines are sophisticated but they still can’t find your website unless you optimize it fully. Ensure all your pages include a title tag, the appropriate keywords and a short description about your website. A clear navigation structure as well as a thorough site map will also help both the search engines and your human visitors find you.

#3 – Write great content.

Great website content is to search engines what honey is to bees. They absolutely love it. The content on your website should be helpful, informative and as up-to-date as possible. Adding regular fresh content will be appreciated by your human visitors as well as the search engines.

#4 – Do your keyword research.

Search engines and human visitors use keywords to find your website. Your keywords are the lifeblood of your business. It pays to take a little extra time to get this step right. Some keywords can bring thousands of repeat customers to your website for years. Other keywords won’t be found or rated at all.

You can use a good free keyword tracker or a paid one to find the ultimate keywords for your market. Then use them on your website intertwined with fantastic quality content.

Getting quality search engine traffic does take a little work, but it’s very well worth it in the long run. Taking the time to set up your website properly from the start will pay you back over and over again.EJ Cookseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12896015652516067696noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5967648754793859620.post-9751741848459342032010-08-18T10:19:00.000-05:002010-08-18T10:19:40.036-05:00New Wacky Wednesday Sale - 3 Newbie ToolkitsThere are too many people being held back from making a good living online, just because they don't know the basics, like:

But now what do you do? How do you get the traffic you so desperately need? And most of all... how do you get the traffic for FREE?

Here's a list of a few of my favorite free traffic sources:

Article Marketing - Start writing articles and submitting them to the article directories, especially Ezine Articles. Don't forget to add your keywords in the title and the article without "stuffing" it. Make sure your bio is attention-grabbing and has a call to action.

Tip - Keep track of where your articles go by using Google Alerts. If you see they are being published routinely on a well-ranked blog, ask the site owner if they would like to have you send your articles directly to their in-bin whenever you write one.

Blog Posting - Write and post, write and post, and include your keywords for SEO purposes. It may be hard to do this routinely, but you will reap the rewards if you do. Blogging is a great platform for affiliate marketing because you can do product reviews as well as quality posts that help establish a relationship of trust and brand you as an expert.

Twitter - Every time you send an article to EZA they can tweet the title and a link to it. Ditto with sending an autoresponder email through AWeber or adding a picture to TwitPic. If you build up your targeted followers, Twitter is a very beneficial free traffic resource.

Yahoo Answers - This is a great way to not only get traffic but you can strut your stuff as an expert. Simply find questions in your area of expertise and give value-packed answers. Add your link as the reference material.

Guest Blogging - If you can write an interesting and value-filled post, then consider offering your services to some high-ranking blogs in exchange for being able to add your site link to your post. Again, this won't cost you any money and can bring lots of people to your site.

Tip - Don't try this with the Gurus, unless you already know them personally. Ask marketers you've established relationships with, and know that summer is when they're most willing, and in fact eager, to have a guest blogger post for them.

Forums - Search for forums in your niche and join the ones with the most traffic. Answer questions, give feedback and become useful in these forums. Be sure to add your link in your signature line, if they allow it. People will build a relationship with you, see that you know what you're talking about, and visit your site.

Tip - It's important with any of these resources to be legitimate and not spam people. Before you jump into a new arena, read the rules! Then take a look around and get a feel for what is acceptable (the unwritten rules.) If you come across as too pushy or spammy, you've done yourself much more harm than good.

If you've got great longtail keywords it might bring you lots of targeted traffic.

While organic traffic is great, and you want to get as much of it as possible, why not try something that will keep people coming back instead of just hitting your site once and going away? One idea is to write a blog post series. I recommend at least 3 parts to your series, although it's going to depend on what you're blogging about.

One great idea for a serial blog post is sharing a case study. Doing a case study on yourself is a good way to hook people and make them want to read more. They'll sign up for your RSS feed or your opt-in so they get notified when you've updated your blog. They're even more likely to leave you blog comments.

Some ideas for case studies:
Other ideas for serial blog posts:

* Your all time top secrets to ______ (making good money at home, losing weight fast, etc.) Start with the last one and work your way forward to the best. Give one in each post and readers will look forward to the next.

* A series of posts on what people must know before they _______ (start blogging, get married, get divorced, etc.)

Tips:

Each serial post should be able to stand alone. Not everyone will come to your blog at the right place. If they're coming from a search engine, they might land in the middle of the series. So start each one with a blurb about what you're doing and add a link to the one before and the one after so people can read them in order if they want.

The idea is to keep these posts on the short side so they leave people wanting more. Also, keep them personal or at least in the first person. Inject your personality into the posts so they come alive.

A series of blog posts is a great way to capture readers so they'll want to come back and read more. Turn your one-time traffic into repeat traffic by putting yourself out there with case studies and expert advice in serial style. The next time they come, they might bring their wallet with them.EJ Cookseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12896015652516067696noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5967648754793859620.post-77732621567353327052010-07-15T23:57:00.007-05:002010-09-28T12:46:57.137-05:00New Advertising Specials!Due to some unexpected Medical Bills, I need to make some cash quickly. Whether you’re a writer, virtual assistant, or marketer, creative blocks quickly turn into stumbling blocks and stop you from doing your best.

Here are a few tips to help you eliminate creative blocks from your business:

#1 – Take a break.

It may seem counter-intuitive, but a creative block is often a way of your body and mind telling you that it’s time for a break. When we’re in the thick of it, it can be difficult to see things for what they really are. A short break will help you clear your mind and get focused on the task at hand.

The most effective breaks are those that help you clear your mind of your current situation altogether. And it can be anything from sitting in the sunshine for 10 minutes to going for a brisk walk. Try not to think about your creative block or task at hand and simply let your mind relax and unwind.

The idea is to simply step away from the problem for a few minutes and to come back refreshed and re-energized.

#2 – Think outside the box.

Sometimes the solutions to our problems are right in front of us but simply require a little outside thinking. For example, if you’re experiencing writer's block, instead of pressuring yourself to write the perfect article, simply jot down your research and “raw” thoughts. This will make up the bulk of your article. Then you can come back to it later and add your creative flair to make it all flow together.

Say you’re a virtual assistance and have been given a task you’re not sure how to complete. Then maybe you can join a networking forum and ask for advice. You can even subcontract that aspect of your job to another virtual assistant.

Sometimes a little creative thinking is all it takes to get rid of our creative blocks. There is no set formula for what needs to be done and you don’t necessarily have to do it all yourself. The key here is to find solutions – whatever they may be – and to not concentrate solely on the problem.

#3 – Journal it.

Journals have been known to help bring clarity, peace of mind and solutions to many problems. By simply jotting down your thoughts and how you feel about certain situations, you may come to a conclusion.

If you’re experience a creative block about the direction or growth of your business, for example, journaling those thoughts may be all it takes to come a the conclusion you’re happy with.

Putting our thoughts and ideas into writing can often bring clarity and closure to many of our issues.

Creative blocks are frustrating for any business owner. The above tips will hopefully help you overcome those blocks and help you gain clarity and focus once again.EJ Cookseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12896015652516067696noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5967648754793859620.post-4049236616150541552010-06-16T01:35:00.006-05:002010-07-01T12:55:41.178-05:00Free Tools For Your Internet Marketing EndeavorsLife is good when you can find tools to help your marketing endeavors. It's even better when you can find quality tools for free. Everyone can use a little help and these tools can save you time, which translates into making more money online. I'm going to tell you which tools I use, many on a daily basis.

RSS reader so you can get notified of new posts on your favorite blogs as soon as they're posted. Having an RSS reader saves you time, because you don't have to try to remember the links to visit the blogs you like, and no more wasting time checking on them only to find they haven't posted anything since you last checked. The one I use is Google Reader. Simply sign up, subscribe to your favorite blogs' feeds, and pick the RSS reader you want.

Google Alerts so you can check up on your online stuff. Google Alerts allows you to see who is publishing your stuff, who is talking about you, and which sites your EzineArticles are being posted on. You can also set it up to show you when something is posted to a site regarding keywords you are targeting. This helps you come up with ideas for content, and allows you to see what is happening online regarding your keyword subject. Go to google.com/alerts and put in the words you want to track.

FTP so you can upload your pdfs, zip files, and web pages to your website. I like to use Filezilla, but there are many free ones out there such as Smart FTP and Trellian FTP. It's a simple matter to go to their websites and hit the download button.

Google Analytics is a great way to track what's going on with your sites. You can see who visited, how long they stayed, where they are from, which pages they looked at, and what keywords they used to find your site. This is information you need to know. Follow the prompts and paste the code on your site where they tell you to.

CamStudio - it's a great way to do video if you can't afford applications like Camtasia. It has fewer features than Camtasia, but the features lacking are more advanced anyway. It does the job and the price can't be beat. Eventually, though, you may want to upgrade to Camtasia or similar.

Google AdWords Keyword Tool is what I use when researching keywords. Finding the best keywords and longtail keywords is the essential search engine optimization strategy. I may not spend a lot of time doing everything SEO, but I do always put serious effort into finding the right keywords.

Trellian Website Builder is a free way to build your website and it's not too hard to figure out. You're likely going to have many websites in your career as an online marketer, so why not learn how to build them yourself fairly quickly? Sometimes you have only a one page squeeze page to put up, go for it instead of waiting for someone else to do it for you.
If you are doing affiliate marketing, your earning potential can be unlimited. Since you don't need to deliver the product or provide customer service, you can focus exclusively on earning your affiliate commissions. But too many affiliate marketers don't live up to their potential. If you've determined that you will, here are some ways you can take your affiliate marketing to the next level.

1. Start a blog

Attract people who are interested in the products you’re an affiliate for by starting a blog. Keep it updated with fresh and informative content. Many affiliate programs will give you prewritten blog posts you can copy and paste into your own blog as is. However, it is better if you write your own. The search engines will like them because they're original content. Your human visitors will enjoy reading something they can't find anywhere else.

2. Start an opt-in email list

An opt-in mailing list will give you an opportunity to follow up with your prospects. When people come to your blog because of the exciting content you have there, you want to be sure to capture their email addresses. Once they're on your list, send them informative emails regularly so they don't feel like you're always selling to them.

3. Write your own product reviews

To sell an affiliate product effectively, try it out for yourself and write a review. Affiliate programs sometimes offer product reviews you can copy and paste, but it is best to avoid using those if you can. You will be more sincere, and more compelling if you write your own. Many affiliate programs will give their affiliates free or discounted prices for this very reason. Try the product or service you're selling and write your own honest reviews.

4. Buy your own domain name

Forget those long, unattractive affiliate links. Purchase your own domain name and redirect it to your affiliate link. When you want to direct someone to your affiliate link, it will much easier for everyone to remember. When you post your link on your blog or send it out to your email list, people will be more likely to click on it if it looks like a real website URL.

5. Create articles, press releases and/or videos

Write articles about a topic that's of interest to your target market and submit them to article directories. Write a press release about how this product helps solve a newsworthy problem. Record a video of yourself using the product.

6. Offer an attractive bonus

After you've convinced your prospects to buy a product, how can you be sure they will buy it from you instead of your competitors? One way is to create an attractive bonus offer. Make sure that it will add value to the affiliate's product. Then give it to everyone who buys through your affiliate link. You may want to let the affiliate program owner know you're doing this and make sure it's allowed.

Following these suggestions can help you take your affiliate marketing to the next level. Remember that as an affiliate, your earning potential can be unlimited. Now it's time to fulfill that potential.

While both of these are great and I highly recommend each of them, today I came across a brand new service that really caught my attention. It's called PaySpree and the reason it caught my attention is that ALL its members get paid for their sales instantly by PayPal.

Even affiliates get paid for their referred sales instantly by PayPal.

I expect it to become quite a hit as the lure of 'instant commissions' played a big part in the massive success of products such as 7DollarSecrets and the RapidActionProfits scripts.

I've actually come across products for sale that are just lists of affiliate programs that pay instant paypal commission. And I've seen many threads in the various internet marketing forums asking about where to find instant commission affiliate programs. Now there is an entire site and marketplace dedicated to them.

As soon as you become a member you can start promoting any product in the marketplace, and you can add your own products so affiliates can promote them for you. All commission payments are handled automatically by PaySpree, it sounds like a winner to me.

According to Technorati, 1.4 blogs are created every second, every day. That's plenty of content needed to keep each blog fresh and updated. This doesn't even include static websites that also need content.

No wonder Private Label Rights (PLR) content has become a growing online business. PLR is a boon to website publishers, because it allows them to use the content any way they want -- short of passing on the PLR to their own customers.

PLR can:

- cut down the time it takes to research a topic
- make writer's block a non-issue
- be reformatted in almost endless ways, providing tons of content
- make content creation much faster, easier and cheaper

If you're interested in getting into the PLR business yourself, one good approach is to resell PLR content. That is, you purchase PLR content with resell rights. This allows you to sell the content and pass along the PLR to your customers.

This makes the PLR business much easier, because it eliminates the need to:

- find, hire and manage writers
- brainstorm topic ideas month after month
- monitor the quality of the content -- if your source of resell PLR content is reliable

How to Resell PLR

Because selling PLR is a lucrative online business, you will face many competitors. But if you're creative, you can easily stand out from competitors who are also offering PLR content.

Of course, you could resell the PLR content as is. Why stop there?

Here are even better ideas:

- Convert the PLR articles to a different format:

- autoresponder messages
- special reports
- audio recordings
- videos
- slideshow presentations
- e-course

- Pre-load the PLR content into a website/WP blog

Many online marketers are in the business of flipping sites. That is, they buy underperforming sites cheaply, make them more profitable and then sell them for a huge profit.

You can do this easily with resell PLR content: Create a niche affiliate site, preload it with resell PLR articles, and then sell the site. This has a much higher perceived value than PLR articles!

The Importance of Quality

The thing with running a PLR business is this: you will survive only if you consistently provide high-quality PLR content at an affordable price. Remember, your business and reputation are on the line.

One source I highly recommend is AllResellContent.com by Alice Seba and Mila Sidman. Alice and Mila have been in the PLR business since 2006 and have been making a good living from it. They've lasted this long only because they have been consistently providing high-quality PLR content.

And now, they're offering PLR content with resell rights. As a member of AllResellContent, every month, you will get 50 articles in five different topics. That's enough PLR content to keep your customers happy month after month.
If you are looking for a way to show off your expertise and also make a little money while doing it, consider starting a blog.

What is a Blog?

A blog is actually an online journal of sorts. With a blog you can upload daily posts about anything that you want. Some people create personal blogs as a way to keep in touch with family members. Pictures, videos and other information are uploaded so your loved ones are current with what is going on with you.

Here we are going to talk about business blogs. This is a blog that you begin to attract traffic in order to sell products or services. To be interesting to others, your blog will need to:

• Have updated content for visitors
• Be marketed to draw traffic
• Register with search engines so it can be found in the rankings

How to Start

If you are new to blogging, use a free blogging platform to get your feet wet. Sites like Blogger.com, Wordpress.org and others offer free blogs to users. Depending on the site you choose, the themes and plug-ins (added features) will vary. Most will walk you through the process step by step so that you can be up and running in no time.

Before you start posting, decide what will be the theme, or niche of your blog. A jack-of-all-trades type of blog doesn’t do as well as one that is geared towards a certain niche. If you like crafts, that can be your niche. Create posts that talk about how to craft, what to craft, how to make crafting profitable and so on. Once you have decided on a path, it is time to create that great content.

How to Make Money

In order to make money with your blog, you need to have people visiting it. That is where marketing comes in. to draw traffic you have to get the word out about your blog. Tell all of your friends and family members that you are online with your blog for a start.

Any money-making venture will take place once you have built your readership with interesting posts. Then you can put into play a number of profitable additions:

• Google AdSense
• Selling Advertising
• Affiliate Marketing
• EBook Marketing

The simplest one to pursue is Google AdSense. You are using targeted advertisements to create revenue for your blog. You are paid per clicks on the ads.

There are other options where you can get paid when someone makes a sale on that website. That is more likely to happen when you join an affiliate program. Join affiliate program that work well with your website niche.

EBooks are short downloadable electronic books that you can create yourself and sell on your website. They can be on a variety of subjects but in order for them to sell, you must be able to offer new information to your customers.

Blogs can be used to build revenue. Start with your chosen niche and market your blog to find the traffic you need. Then, utilize these ideas to turn a profit.
An interaction that lets you ask questions, provide answers and even debate online.

Blogs enable you to offer an opinion, good or bad, and to simply rant or rave about something should you choose to do so. By offering a myriad of communication options unrivaled by other content forms, blogs make it easy to market a product.

Here’s how:

Reviews. One of the most powerful forms of marketing is to write a simple review as a blog post. This works particularly well if you’re an affiliate marketer because a review of a product comes across as unbiased, as it should, while at the same time demonstrates the benefits of a product. It presells a product or service, which is the primary responsibility of an affiliate marketer. However, you can also ask outside parties, guest bloggers, to review your products or services and then either post their reviews on your website or link to them in a blog post written by you.

Lists. People love lists, whether they’re lists of useful products, resources or even steps to take to accomplish something. You can market your product by blogging a list and including it in your list. For example, if you sell a book on how to start a business, you could blog a list of valuable resources for aspiring entrepreneurs, including of course your book as a final bullet on your list. Include a short blurb about your product and include a link to your sales page.

Success Stories. People enjoy reading success stories and they’re a wonderful attribute to your products or services. Using the above example of a business that sells a book on how to start your own business, you could blog about a success story or case study from a client. If possible, include a link to your success story’s website so it works as a credible testimonial and include a link to your sales page so others can purchase and experience the same success.

Share a controversy or start a debate. Blogs are often used to incite conversation, this of course drives traffic because people are able to communicate their opinions and participate in the conversation. Tap into a current controversy or debate and share your opinion and expertise. If your product or service is a solution to a problem related to the controversy then you can give it a quick plug with a link to your sales page.

Blogging to promote your product or service is an excellent way to communicate with your audience in an honest and open venue. You can provide them with valuable and interesting information, leave room for conversation and comments, and link to your sales page or the product or service you’re affiliated with.EJ Cookseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12896015652516067696noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5967648754793859620.post-5334881566412221162010-02-12T21:30:00.001-06:002010-04-12T15:47:06.938-05:00The Best Of The Best From The Best

The Top Ten
You'll just get on Facebook or Twitter, or play a game Spider Solitaire first and then maybe your brain will kick into gear. Poof, your two hour window to work just went out the virtual window.

And sometimes you sit in front of your computer and stare at it with hatred. If you have to work one more minute your brain is going to explode or you're sure you're going to say something snarky on a forum that you'll later regret.

So what do you do? In either case you could be suffering from a serious lack of focus and motivation.

It's time to motivate yourself. Now, everyone is different and what motivates me might not motivate you, and indeed, what motivates you right now, might not motivate you in three months.

Here are some suggestions to help light a fire under your rearend when you need it.

Set a big 30 day goal for yourself that requires daily or weekly mini-goals.

Success at the end means more income for you and/or lessons learned on how to achieve the goal in an easier or more direct route. You will most likely be able to accomplish what you did originally in 30 days in a lot less time next time because you will figure out shortcuts and build templates so you don't have to do it again from scratch.

Examples are -

* Starting one new niche site a week.
* Adding content to your blog daily for a month.
* Writing a guest blog post twice a week.

Create a contest for you and others.

This is the same as above, but you bring others in to share the goal with you. The big benefits are being held accountable by others and building your name recognition.

Ideas for this are -

Write one article per day x 30 days and post any increases in your opt-ins, sales, and ad revenue.

Create a product from scratch by interviewing others in your niche.

Create a page where all new products can be shown upon completion after the 30 days.

Watch and record a TV special about an area you would like to visit.

You can watch this special every time you find yourself straying from the path. The show will remind you that to get "c", you need to do "a" and "b" first.

Create a dream board.

Put pictures on your dream board of what you'd like to be surrounded with in your life. You could have pictures of a tropical beach or a beautiful home, or pictures of a stay-at-home dad and a person who works with kids or a charity. Whatever pictures get you dreaming and your motor running should go on the board.

Take time away.

Sometimes we get so busy we never take a step back and look at the big picture. Take an afternoon off and grab your notepad and your dog and go for a hike. Think about your plan, what's working and what's not, what's giving you a headache, etc., while you're walking and you'll be amazed with what comes to mind. Take some notes when you stop for a break.

We're all motivated in different ways at different times. If you find you're lacking motivation lately, consider some of these ideas to get you back on track.EJ Cookseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12896015652516067696noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5967648754793859620.post-8581115458277493332010-02-04T10:09:00.001-06:002010-04-12T15:48:36.292-05:00Ask Yourself "What Do Successful Internet Marketers Do That I Don't?"Many times people begin doing internet marketing excited about their dream of making lots of online money. Who doesn't want to make enough money online to be able to quit their job? It's the dream of lots of people.

But perhaps you've been doing internet marketing for a while now and you're not making the big bucks the gurus do.

What separates them from you? What do successful internet marketers do that you don't?

Do you have a business model?

It has been said that being a successful internet marketer is not rocket science; find a business model that works for you and work it hard. Yet how many times do you start to follow one model, then abandon it for the next model that comes along with great promises? Stick with one until you're making money with it, then either ramp it up on a large scale or find another stream to add to your income.

Do you work on your business or in your business?

This question catches a lot of people. They're so busy working in their business that they don't have time to take a step back and make the BIG plans for the business. They need to get help, such as finding ways to automate their system or outsource some of the work.

Do you have a list?

You need a list, plain and simple. When you start out, that should be your aim. Without a list, you have to rely on constant traffic as your means of making money. With a list, you have a ready-made group of people to market to - and they're more likely to listen to you.

Do you drive traffic to your site?

It is important to have a plan in place regarding driving traffic, and you have to work it every day. You can use social bookmarking, backlinking, article marketing, forum commenting, Twitter, etc.

Do you have your own product?

A good number of internet marketers start out by selling other people's products because it's easier and cheaper to get started with, and the learning curve isn't so steep. Affiliate marketing can be successful, but you may make even more money with your own products. You can do both - sell affiliate products and your own products.

Do you know how to do videos, podcasts, teleseminars, etc?

Don't feel you've reached a dead end because you don't know how to do something. Jump in, figure it out as best you can, ask for help in forums, watch instructional videos, contact support, etc. No excuses here.

Have you built relationships?

Do you have friends? Not only is it more fun to have internet marketing friends, but you can help each other out. Answer questions, get yours answered, form profitable joint ventures, and have ready-made affiliates.

Do you have a sales funnel?

This is what separates the men from the boys, the big earners from the wannabes, in the internet marketing world. Don't just sell a product; sell it, make money on an upsell, cash in with a backend product, etc.

There are many more questions such as these that you could ask yourself, but I think you get the idea. Take a good, hard look at what you've been doing and figure out how you can do better in each area. Make the improvements and you should find your income increasing.EJ Cookseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12896015652516067696noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5967648754793859620.post-35974809713407557572010-01-25T11:53:00.001-06:002010-04-12T15:50:05.513-05:00What's Your Biggest Pet Peeve About Internet Marketing or Marketers?I'm not in a bad mood today, honestly, but I was thinking about how there are some things that really annoy me about Internet marketers, and marketing on the Internet in general. I can't wait for you to chime in, but I'll go ahead and go first since I've already been thinking about it.

Here are some of my pet peeves in IM:

* Emails from marketers telling me they're going to post to their blog tomorrow.

I don't have time to waste reading emails telling me to watch for tomorrow's email. Oh, I know why they do it... they're trying to build anticipation. Not only does it waste my time, it makes me feel like a bit like a lab rat in an experiment.

* Okay, this makes me more than annoyed - finding my articles on a Made-For-AdSense site with the links removed.

Or they've spun my article so it makes no sense and taken out the links. Enough on that, I can feel my blood pressure going up.

* I also get peeved when I get email after email from all the gurus when a big launch by one of their friends is happening.

I know these marketers sometimes give some great information, that's why I remain on their lists, but nowadays I only hear from them when they want to promote a big (expensive) launch.

But in reality, I bet you met some, if not most of your goals, didn't you? And just think how far you've come! Seriously, look back to where you were a year ago and take note of all that you've learned since then.
It's true, we sometimes get that deer-in-the-headlight look when we've got too much information coming at us, but it's also true that we've taken some action. Did you notice when you took the action path you came up against walls - some short and fairly easy to scale, and others that required a friend with a ladder to get over?
P.S. May your walls all be short ones in 2010. EJ Cookseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12896015652516067696noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5967648754793859620.post-58464148369056748042009-12-19T12:31:00.000-06:002009-12-19T12:33:17.888-06:00Do You Know What Your Business Is?Many online marketers fail because they do not know what their business is. Those who write ebooks and short reports believe they are in the ebook information business, while software creators or marketers both think their business is software. Neither one is even close.

When people trying to run a business do not have a clear idea of what that business actually is they will be unable to produce business plans, write compelling sales copy or build a loyal following. In short, they will not have a business at all.

Regardless of what your product is, your only business is MARKETING. It doesn't matter if your business is online or in a retail store in a mall. Your business is MARKETING. Successful marketers develop a marketing mindset. No one was born with it. They learned how to think like a marketer and to make decisions marketers need to make.

Your first step in this process is to develop a marketer's mindset, rather than an ebook seller's mindset, for example. If you've been selling products on eBay or on your own website, you've probably been consumed by finding interested niches, driving traffic, testing ads for conversion rates and building a list. As necessary as those tasks are, they are the product of a seller's mindset and, while you might make some sales with that mindset, your business will not soar to new heights.

In order to develop a powerful marketing mindset, you have to learn to focus on the one question that will govern every step you take online. All of your business decisions have to be looked at though this question: "How will this action provide true benefits and create loyalty among my customers?" If you cannot provide an answer to that question, you might want to rethink your plan of action.

For all the planning, designing, researching and testing that goes into a successful marketing campaign, the customer is actually in charge of your business. All your success depends on a sale of your products or services and that is 100% dependent on your customer and THEIR needs.

When you develop a successful marketer's mindset, you will understand the motivations that make your customers buy from you. You have to find out what they need and what they want before you start offering products to them. If you are a member of several forums, read the questions that are asked in any category and focus on providing solutions to them. That's a ready-made, customer-driven market for your specific answers provided as a short report, longer ebook or services.

In the past, marketing was all about selling products to a constantly changing market made up of anonymous customers who made a purchase and disappeared. Giant sales based on holidays or current events were designed to bring that anonymous customer back to the store or service to make another purchase. The customers were still anonymous.

Today's marketplace, the worldwide Internet, has demanded a shift from anonymous marketing to building personal, nurturing relationships with customers and that demands exceptional, over-the-top customer service, to start with. Your customers need to develop a personal, trusting relationship with you or they won't even open your emails and, eventually, will just unsubscribe. Click...Gone!

What used to be an Internet of quickly-built, simple web pages promoting products to an anonymous audience no longer exists. The new marketing principles are based on a social Web, with people interacting directly with each other and mega businesses. Open communication and honest answers have become the driving force behind any online relationship.

Those relationships are dynamic, vital and dependent on the customer's behavior, attitudes and interests. Now, a single customer in a very small town, way out in the country someplace, can reach out and grab the attention of a mega company on the other side of the globe and have an effect on their customer service or the products they provide.

Now that's worth thinking about!
